FSB Carrizo Springs Branch Wins at BBQ Cook-Off

On Saturday, October 20th a team composed of FSB employees along with law enforcement officials and reps from Botello's Screen Printing participated in the 6th Annual Eagle Ford Fall Fling BBQ Cook-off in Carrizo Springs. The team won 1st place in the fajita division and the group also sold sausage wraps in which the proceeds went to Anderson House Pregnancy Resource Center.

2018 Women's Health Expo a Success

On Tuesday, October 9th, around 500 women from Uvalde and the surrounding area gathered for the 5th meeting of Uvalde Memorial Hospital's WOMEN'S HEALTH EXPO. 
Rebekah Gregory, survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing and motivational speaker, captivated the crowd with her story of courage and healing. First State Bank of Uvalde proudly sponsored Gregory and passed out pink FSB water bottles to attendees of the event.

FSB Receives Community Banking Award

 First State Bank of Uvalde received the Bronze Eagle Award for Financial Literacy from the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, Best of Community Banking Awards. The project covered the bank's efforts in teaching good money management skills & the importance of saving to students and adults in the Southwest Texas area.

Former FSB Employee Turns 100 

Jo S. Noble turned 100 years young on September 18, 2018 and a grand celebration was held in her honor in the Captain Leander McNelly room at First State Bank of Uvalde.

FSB Sponsors Local TSWCRA Event

The Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers held its Membership Meeting at the Uvalde County Fair Plex on September 13th. The meeting was sponsored by First State Bank of Uvalde.
Chad Stary, President & CEO of FSB, was the speaker at the event which was well attended by area Ranchers and their families. TSWCRA gave an update on legislative areas they are working on to preserve the Ranching way of life.

FSB to Sponsor Speaker at Women's Health Expo 2018

 "In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, Uvalde Memorial Hospital is hosting a Women’s Health Expo to take place on Tuesday, October 9th at the Ssgt. Willie de Leon Civic Center from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Our focus is not only on breast cancer awareness but overall women’s health and encouraging women to take an active approach to their healthcare." - Uvalde Memorial Hospital, web page info.

Women's Health Expo 2018

FSB Labor Day Parade

On Saturday, September 1st over 60 floats/entries adorned Getty and Nopal Streets for the annual First State Bank of Uvalde Labor Day Parade. The Grand Marshal of the parade was FSB's own President & CEO, Chad Stary, accompanied by his wife Kim. 

The parade is an Uvalde tradition along with the Palomino Fest, which was held at the Uvalde County Fairplex.

New UCISD Teachers Treated to Luncheon

On July 23rd, over 35 new UCISD teachers, staff, and members of the new UCISD Police Department were treated to an FSB tour of the Briscoe Art & Antique Collection. A brisket lunch was served in the McNelly room.
We at First State Bank of Uvalde wish everyone a successful 2018-2019 school year.

FSB Feeds Student Community Helpers

On June 26th FSB employees assisted the H.O.T.T. Days (Helping Out The Town) workers, leaders, and staff of over 250 by  providing a chilli dog dinner with desserts. Local students, along with various members of San Antonio churches, assisted community members in need by doing paint projects, yard work, general cleaning & light construction. Bank employees contributed over 50 hours to the project.
