First State Bank offers competitive rates and terms on Certificates of Deposit. A Certificate of Deposit may be issued for $1,000 or more with a term extending from 30 days to 30 months. You may elect the automatic renewal option, adding safety and convenience to your decision to save. The certificate will be placed in our safekeeping vault and you will be given a safekeeping receipt and notified at each maturity. Simply give us a call with your renewal instructions. Interest accrues daily and is paid monthly, quarterly or at maturity. Interest may be paid to you by check, deposited to your checking or savings account, or added back to the CD to increase the principal.
First State Bank can customize your IRA needs. An IRA account can be opened with as little as a $1,000 deposit. Fixed rate IRA may be for 18 or 30 months. The term for a variable rate IRA is 18 months and deposits may be made to it at any time. Interest is compounded and paid quarterly to the IRA account. Withdrawals from an IRA can begin at age 59 ½ without an IRS penalty. Disbursements must begin at age 70 ½. Other restrictions apply. Let us help you begin saving for retirement today.
